Arturo Rios Fernandez, age 76, entered into eternal rest peacefully February 11, 2016 at Valley Baptist Medical Center surrounded by love of family. He was born February 12, 1939 in Montemorelos, Mexico to Ernesto Arturo and Hermelinda Fernandez.
Arturo was a lifelong resident of Harlingen where he owned and operated his own business for over forty years, Fernandez Plumbing Service. His favorite pastime was taking his wife out dancing almost every weekend. He also enjoyed hunting, barbequeing, and spending time with his family and friends. He was always most proud of all his children for obtaining and exceling in their education and professional careers.
He leaves behind to cherish his wonderful memory his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Oralia Fernandez, his adoring children, Isabel Mendoza (Eddie), Elvia Mercado (Jose Luis), Alicia Fernandez-Campfield (Van), Armando Fernandez (Rosie), Javier Fernandez (Teresa), Richard Fernandez (Becky), 15 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, Siblings, Ninfa Fernandez, Lilia Conde, Rogelio Fernandez, Yolanda Hernandez, Guillermo Fernandez, Edemiro Fernandez, Fernando Fernandez, Alejandro Fernandez. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Arturo is preceded in death by his parents, Son, Ernesto Arturo Fernandez Jr., Infant sons, Alberto and David Fernandez.
