Arthur V. McConville, 87, of Lavallette, NJ, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015. Born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, he lived in Morristown, NJ, and had summered in Lavallette since 1963 before moving there permanently in 1991.
Arthur was a graduate of Columbia University and was an Architect for many years, retiring in 1991, He was a parishioner and daily communicant of the Parish of St. Pio, Lavallette, NJ. Arthur was an avid snow skier and was a member of the Watchung Ski Club. He also was the recipient of the Civic Recognition Award, volunteered as a Caregiver, and was a US Army WWII Veteran.
Arthur was predeceased by his brother Paul McConville, his sister Eileen McConville and brothers-in-law Howard Bachman and Robert Burns. He is survived by his sisters Joan Burns of Crystal Lake, IL and Mary Agnes Bachman of Lakewood, NJ, a sister in law Dorothy Noel McConville of East Brunswick, NJ, his nieces, nephews, and their spouses, Howard & Cathy Bachman, Dennis & Jackie Bachman, Kenneth & Donna Bachman, Donald & Michelle Bachman, Barbara Stonehouse, Maureen & Daniel Svorinic, Christopher & Kathy Burns, Jeffrey & Rebecca Burns, and Colleen Burns.
He is also survived by many cousins and great nieces and nephews.
