Mr. Arthur Maynard ‘Art’ Bird, Greenfield, Indiana, passed away on the early morning of Friday, June 19, 2020 at Ascension-St. Vincent Heart Center in Carmel. He was 76. Art was born November 27, 1943 in Howell, Michigan to the late Arthur Maynard Bird, Sr. and Lois Marion (Young) Bird.
Art attended Howell (MI) High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1962. He has also earned an Associates degree from Phoenix College in Arizona. He was a self-employed owner/operator truck driver for several years. Art was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying his Cessna four-seater, playing golf and riding his motorcycle.
Art is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Doris Jean (Armborst) Bird; his son, Dwight Bird; his grandchildren, Devon Bird and Addi Bird; his sisters, Rebecca (Ken) Niblock and Jean Tomlin; several nieces and nephews as well as his flying buddies.
Art was preceded in passing by his parents.
