Arthur E “Bud” Webster, Jr., 80, a lifelong resident of Cromwell and beloved husband of Carrie (Goodrich) Webster for 54 years, passed away on Saturday, May 3rd at Middlesex Hospital. He was born on April 28th, 1928 in Cromwell to the late Arthur E., Sr. and Margaret (McNeil) Webster. Bud retired in 1991 as CEO and Chairman of the Board at Farmers and Mechanics Bank after 45 years in banking. He had an active life serving as Commander of American Legion Post #105, President of Cromwell Lions Club, Chairman of the Board of Middlesex Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Savings Bank Association of CT, Former Director of Holy Apostles College, and Director of The Hundred Club of CT. Bud received the Distinguished Citizens Award from the Town of Cromwell and the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce Award. Besides his wife, he is survived by two children, Gail W. Fasciano and her husband, Bob, and Arthur E. Webster; two beloved grandsons, Greg and John Fasciano; one sister, Margaret W. Cameron and her husband, Clarence, and several nieces and nephews.
