Arthur C. Strohmaier, 94, of LaSalle, passed away Thursday morning, May 20, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. Arthur was born June 3, 1926 in Peru to Frank and Louise (Perz) Strohmaier.
He graduated from DePue High School and joined the United States Navy during WWII as an aviation radio technician. Arthur married Sally Borys on June 3, 1950 in St. Valentine’s Catholic Church in Peru.
He retired from the Fasano Pie and Pastry Delivery Business after 38 years of service to the local restaurants and stores. During retirement, Arthur enjoyed traveling with his wife, Sally, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking, and making apple strudel. He was a die hard Chicago Cubs fan and loved to play cards.
Arthur will be remembered for always seeing the best in everyone and he thoroughly enjoyed life to the fullest.Arthur will be greatly missed by his loving family including his daughters, Gail (Ken) Woodshank of Peru, and Vicki Klein of LaSalle and Solana Beach, CA; son, Gary (Susan) Strohmaier of Evergreen, CO; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally on April 30, 2012; his parents; two brothers, William and Robert Strohmaier and his sister, Louise Morton
