Arthur B. “Red” Cole, age 82, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida passed away on February 15, 2007 at his home.
Red was born on November 20, 1924 in Tallassee, Alabama to the late Ira Paul Cole and Donie Haynie Cole. He was a proud graduate of Troy State University where he earned a bachelors degree. Red was a dedicated to his country serving in World War II with the United States Army. Red was active in the community and touched the lives of many. He retired from the Okaloosa School District after 30 years teaching and coaching at Choctawhatchee High School. He loved sports; he enjoyed coaching and he was passionate about umpiring as a sports official. Red was active in the VFW and the American Legion. He was a very attentive husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Red was preceded in death by his first wife, Anne Laura Cole. He is survived by wife, Hughlene R. Cole; sons, David L. Cole (Gay) and Charles S. Daughtry (Glenda); grandchildren, Carson Cole and Wesley Cole; and several nieces and nephews.
