Arthur E.”Art” Heck, 86, of West Lafayette, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021, in his residence.

He was born January 5, 1935, in Wilmington, Illinois, to the late Art and Alpha Sitter Heck.

Art was a 1953 graduate of Wilmington High School and was a United States Navy veteran, who earned his National Defense and Good Conduct Medals for his service from November 4, 1953, until his honorable discharge on October 2, 1957. Art married Carol McQuigg on August 3, 1969, in East Lynn, IL and she survives.

Art worked in Civil Service in supply management for the US Government .  He was a very active member of White Horse Christian Center in West Lafayette and served in many capacities. He enjoyed fishing, wood working, and spending time with his family and friends.

Along with his wife, Carol, he is survived by 2 of his children, son, John (Peggy) Heck of Prescott Valley, AZ and daughter, Yvonne “Edie” Pansoy of San Jose, CA; 3 siblings, sister, Marlene Akins of Wilmington, IL, sister, Joanna (Glenn) Schwartz of Hiawatha, IA, and brother, Larry Heck of Wilmington, IL; 7 grandchildren, Jesse (Mary) Heck,  Jeremy (Amber) Heck, Jacob Heck, Alissa Pansoy Castillo, Christian (Ashley) Pansoy, Nicole Pansoy , Bryan Heck; 9 great-grandchildren, Jack, Joel, James, Abigail, Cody, Cory Heck and Athena Castillo, Ella & Luke Pansoy; 16 nieces & nephews; and numerous great-nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents; son, Paul Heck; brother, John Heck; sisters, Anna Ward, Mary Ruth Bullock, and Dora Wilson.
