Arnold L. (Muggs) Miller, age 96, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2022 with his wife Doris by his side. He was born on February 8, 1926, in South Bend, Indiana to the late Arnold and Lucy (Wade) Miller. Muggs is the youngest of four children and was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Charles and Max and sister Geraldine.
Muggs graduated from New Carlisle High School in May of 1944 and was drafted into the Calvary later that summer. Before being deployed, he married his high school sweetheart, Doris Peterson on April 1, 1945. After the war ended, Muggs and Doris spent a year in San Diego, CA and then returned to New Carlisle to start their long and happy life together. Muggs started his own company and became involved in the community enjoying his wife and family and numerous friends. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, American Legion and the Masons. He loved music and all sports especially IU basketball and Notre Dame Football.
In 1983, Muggs retired from his company, Valley Insulating and began spending winters in Scottsdale, AZ where he and Doris made many great friends and wonderful memories. They enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and above all else, playing cards.
Surviving are his wife of 77 years, Doris and their three children: Mark Miller, New Carlisle, IN, Peggy (Steve Williams), Plano TX, and Bruce (Brandie) Miller, So. Lebanon, OH, grandchildren Mindy Plumbeck, Kara Plumbeck, Scott Williams, Brody Miller, Carson Miller and great granddaughter Brielle Randle.
