Obituary

Arnold Douglas “Dougie” Fields, Age 70 of Bluebank, passed away Thursday evening March 21, 2013 in the Pioneer Trace Nursing Home after and illness of several weeks.

He was born in Lewis County, Kentucky on August 27, 1942 to the late Hershel Mitchel and Nola Howe Fields.

Dougie had the reputation as one of the best auto mechanic’s around. His love for racing and building race car engines was well known. He passed this passion on to his two sons, Arnie and Mitchel.

Dougie was a self-employed mechanic having ran Doug Fields Garage for many years. He was a machinist at Gooding Auto Parts, a heavy equipment mechanic for WSH Construction Company working in the coalmines in Hazard, Kentucky and worked in quality control at Randalls. He also owned and operated the Fleming County Raceway in Goddard, Kentucky for seven years.

Survivors include his sons, Arnie (Kelli Jo), Mitchel Lee (Jenna Ramey) both of Flemingsburg and Brent Fields of Cincinnati, Ohio. One sister, Frieda Faris of Plummers Landing, Kentucky .

Four grandchildren, Sydni Jo Fields, Braxton Fields, Katie Hickerson and Jackson Hickerson.
One nephew, Mitch Faris of Plummers Landing and several other relatives and friends.
