Arlene Joyce McLain Alarid was called home to be with the lord on October 8, 2020, at the age of 87. Arlene was born on August 8, 1933, in Fence Wisconsin to Bud and Mary McClain.
Arlene had a passion for “playing in the dirt” and spent many hours tending to her yard and keeping it beautiful. She was very artistic and enjoyed taking art classes. She loved to travel and had many adventures with family and friends that included trips to Hawaii, Mexico, bowling tournaments and cheering on Pete at his sporting events.
Arlene was a diehard packer fan and all-around sports lover. She spent many hours in a gym alongside her daughter, helping with any sport Pam was coaching. You could often find her selling tickets to the game, running the concession stand or just in the crowd yelling at the refs (because of course she knew better than they did). Her family was her whole life, which included her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved watching her grandsons play basketball and was always their biggest cheerleader. She shared a special bond with her grandson Trevor (her duder boy), and granddaughter Erica. Erica and her grandma were able to share many adventures together which included one last trip to Disneyland in 2019 and one last ride on her favorite, “It is a Small World”. In her later years, she had so much joy with her three great granddaughters. They were the light of her life and she would tell anyone who would listen what silly things the girls were up to that day. She often said they are what kept her going and “kept her young.”
She had a presence about her that you could not help but love and she touched anyone that she came in contact with. She will be deeply missed by many and remembered forever.
