Arlene Belarde passed away December 26, 2020. She was 87 years old. Born in the San Luis Valley, she married Walter Belarde on July 5, 1951. She enjoyed dancing, painting, jigsaw puzzles and collecting angels. Her biggest joy was having all her family over for big dinners, the best part was the green chile and homemade sopapillas.
Arlene enjoyed helping othe rs, working at a hospital and nursing home as a nurse’s aide. She also worked for Estes Industries as a solderer, making hobby rockets.
She is survived by her children, Debbie Belarde, Carmen (Gary) Ratkovich, Sonia Belarde, Adam Belarde; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Belarde, son, Gordon, and daughter, Mary Ellen.
The family is forever grateful and thankful to all the staff at Hildebrand Care Center and Legacy Center for the care and friendship given to our mom.
