Archie Wiggins, Sr.

Although the physical remains of Archie Wiggins, Sr.

He was born on June 6, 1952, in Spur, Texas, to the proud parents of the late Voncile and Curtis Wiggins, Sr. He resided in Phoenix, AZ., until he relocated to Hobbs, NM., where he met his loving wife, Patricia, and her family. They married and together they became the proud, loving parents to six children. Archie loved good food and enjoyed cooking for his family. He adored fishing and enjoyed sports and music. But his greatest love was woodworking. He also enjoyed socializing with friends and family, and had a positive attitude toward life, because of his love of God. He was of the Methodist faith and cherished worshipping the Lord in deeds and service under his pastor, Rev. Larron Fields.

He attended high school in Phoenix, AZ. After his formal education, he joined the National Guard Armory and served our country faithfully until his honorable discharge.

Archie was a very loveable person and always took the time to help others. He was a philosopher, and never hesitated to deliver words of wisdom.

Anyone that knew Archie, knew how much he loved his family. He was so proud to become a father.
He worked for the City of Hobbs for 25 years. He enjoyed his work, and labored hard at it. He enjoyed befriending many co-workers, until retirement in 2006. Over the years, he continued to stay in touch with many of them until his death.

Archie’s departure to paradise, reunited him with parents, Curtis, Sr. and Voncile; a son, little Archie Wiggins, II; his sister, Sandra McCastle; his sister, Mary Helen Davis; his brothers, Curlee and Perry Wiggins; and his nephews, Richard Walden, and Paul Davis.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Patricia Wiggins; three daughters, Marshella Worley, Jaquetta (Michael) Hodge, Audrey (Clarence) Fite; three sons, Archie Wiggins, III, Diamond (Wendy) Wiggins, and Marquis Wiggins; three brothers, Roy, Glenn, and Donnie Wiggins; two sisters, Marcy (Timothy) DeCamp, and Maryland Wiggins; 15 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends, relatives and other family including those of his spiritual life.
