God, in his most infinite wisdom and in his own time, summoned Retired Sgt. Archie Thompson from labor to reward. Just as every good soldier willingly accepts the charge of his commander, Archie completed his earthly tour of duty on Saturday, June 30, 2007 with his loving wife at his side.

In the same calm, sweet demeanor in which he lived, Archie softly slipped away to answer his call.

We, who survive to honor the legacy of his life are one adoring, loving and devoted wife, Beulah Foy Thompson; dedicated and very loyal step-children Brenda A. (Samuel) Jones and Kennedy L. (Sharon) Foy of Fayetteville, NC; four grandchildren, Michael (kimberly) jones, Shamarria J. Foy of Fayetteville, NC, Seaman Marcus Jones of Oxnard, CA and Myron O. Jones who preceded him in death; six great-grandchildren, one brother, Lionel (Jean) Thompson and one sister, Betty Ann Simmons all of Baltimore, MD; also preceding him in death are one sister, Catherine Richardson and two brothers, Rudolph Brown and Aaron Brown, Jr.; one sister-in-law, Mary (Sam) Jones of Fayetteville, NC; godchildren Peggy Burns of Cary, NC, Deacon Edward (Nancy) Johnson, Minister Carolyn Holmes, and Mr. Joseph McKeithan all of Fayetteville, NC and caregivers, Ms. Louise McNeill, and Ms. Avis Keith of Fayetteville, NC. Archie Thompson leaves a legacy of memories to be cherrished by six nieces, nephews, a host of cousins, neighbors and other loving relatives and friends.
