Archie D. Rawlins, the son of Albert W. and Mary I (Reamer) Rawlins, was born January 5, 1912 in Granby, Missouri and he grew up in Colfax, Iowa.

On January 5, 1933, Archie was united in marriage to Mildred M. Wearmouth in Newton, Iowa.  They farmed in the Newton and Kellogg, Iowa area until 1955.  They also lived in Baxter and Monroe, Iowa and made Newton their home again in 1997.  Archie was a dedicated husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa, who liked to get away to go camping and do a little fishing.  Archie worked for the Maytag Company as a guard and when he retired in 1974 he was working in the factory.

Archie was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and five sisters.  Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Mildred; his two sons and daughters-in-law, Archie L. and Miildred L., Rawlins of Kellogg; Delmar G. and Brenda Rawlins of Zillah, Washington; two daughters and son-in-law, Arlys and Elmer Shepard of Colfax; Norma L. Altemeier and friend, Marv McMulin of Newton; his 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and his many nieces and nephews.
