April Whiteside “Queen” was born January 22, 1969, to Katherine Whiteside and Harry Torrence. She was also blessed with a loving stepfather, Sterling Russell, Sr. who preceded her in death.
April attended Crispus Attucks High School and worked at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
April professed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and wanted to be a blessing to anyone in need. She was a jack of all trades and loved music, playing cards, and going out with family and friends.
April departed her life on December 5, 2021, at the age of 52.
She leaves to cherish her special memories her mother: Katherine Whiteside and father Harry Torrence. Her children: Lydia Allen and Cherrie Proctor Kendra. Grandchildren: Daviyon Garner, Dominique Watson, Braydyn Hill, Zy’air Burgess, Jermarkis Edwards, Rie’lynn Hill, Ler’ryck Allen, J’ream Allen, and Ra’mih Hill. Lifelong companion: Charles Douglas. Brothers: Charles Durham & Wendell Russell, Sr. Sisters: Barbara Whiteside, Connie Nance and Elizabeth Russell as well as a host of family and close friends.
