Antonieto Montolo Uy, fondly called Lonie and Brod among his siblings, 74 years old, a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, a faithful spouse and friend of Jackson Heights, New York, joined our creator on April 9, 2023, at UMDNJ – University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey. He was born on June 21, 1948, to Uy Ek Sing and Carolina Montolo in Tacloban City, Leyte, Philippines.
Antonieto was a devoted Catholic, a generous and kind-hearted person, always extending a helping hand to the church as well as his neighbors. He does these things denying recognition, that is why his neighbors are very fond of him. He was generally a happy, optimistic person. If not for this tragic accident, we would still be hearing him sing and dance to his favorite songs of Neil Diamond, Matt Monroe, Tom Jones, and Engelbert Humperdinck. He loves to watch Chinese movies and other international movies even if it’s in a different language which he doesn’t understand. After his retirement in 2020, he finally had the time to watch late afternoon telenovelas on TV and read drama series on Facebook. He is very much up to date with the current events with lots to say and arguments about it. He was a man of principle and one of his basic principles is punctuality. He was never late. We were also blessed to learn many valuable lessons in life from him. Among them is to stay humble and never throw pantyhose as you can use them to tie a dripping faucet. He was the MacGyver of the house.
He was a cherished husband of Estrella Relador Uy, a loving father of Frederick Uy (Jergelin), Czarina Uy, Johanna Uy-Bagacay (Lucerio Jr.) and Marie Antonette Uy-Quinito (Floreto Jr.); grandfather of Jezrille Micah Uy, Jezron Uy, Danielle Bagacay, Dorraine Bagacay, Derek Bagacay, John Finland Quinito, Von Iriz Quinito and Sydney Marie Quinito; great grandfather of Isabella Bullock. A caring brother of Nenita Uy-Ngo, Lucita Uy-Tiongson, Lolita Uy, Loreta Uy-Pekarsky, Caroline Uy-Pe and Nancy Uy-Tarnate and Ernesto Uy. He will be dearly missed by his friends and relatives.
