Age 89 of St. Paul. Ann went home to the welcoming arms of God on September 15, 2015. Preceded in death by her husband of over 66 years, John and parents Martin and Gregoria Silva. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. Survived by children, JoAnn Betancourt, Marie (Wardell) Warren, Donald (Susanne), Linda (Paul) Haider, Donna (Randall) Haupert, and Patricia Mercado; grandchildren, Tina (Ken) Adams, Martin John (Mary) Betancourt, Sonny (Michelle) Mercado, Anna (Adam) Estlund, Jeffrey (Megan) Haider, Nina Haider (fiancé Josh Bowen), Mitchell and Alyssa Haupert; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Jason, Jayna, Martin, Francis, Elena, Jalen, Elise and Raelynn; siblings Lucy, Peter and their spouses; all the Silva and Mercado families and dear friends. Also preceded in death by son-in-law, Tony Betancourt and great-granddaughters, Kendall Adams and Melissa Dudero; siblings George, Bert, Mike and Mimi. Ann was born on July 25, 1926 in Houston, Texas. A long-time St. Paul resident, she attended Lincoln and Johnson schools. Ann spent her early years working hard to help support her family; she then devoted her life to raising her children and helping to care for her grandchildren. She had many friends and enjoyed teaching catechism at St Mary’s Church. Ann had a gift of listening to others and her loving kindness will live on in our hearts forever.
