Anthony Raymond Johnson left his earthly home on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born on April 28, 1935 to Raymond and Veronica Johnson in Alamogordo, NM.
Raymond is preceded in death by his mother Veronica, step-father Isabell Valencia, father Raymond, son Tony Johnson, brother Lawrence, sisters Helen and Carmen, second mom “Mama” Mariana, grandsons Matthew Chavez and Eddie Altieri, son-in-law Raymond Chavez, and dear friend Adam Lopez.
Raymond proudly served in the United States Army and Marine Corps. He became passionate about his ministries in Cursillo and to inmates in prison. Raymond had a big heart and wanted anyone he encountered to know there was happiness beyond the storm that can come into our lives.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife Frances, sons; Richard Lucero of Santa Fe and Raymond and Lorraine Johnson of Clovis, daughters; Joan Johnson of Clovis, Debbie Johnson of Clovis, Lisa Chavez of Albuquerque, and Mona Johnson of Albuquerque, and brother Ruben Johnson of Globe, Arizona. Raymond is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited at 9:30 on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
