Anthony John Nigro, Jr., 50, of Voluntown passed away on September 15, 2021 at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London.

Tony was born December 2, 1970 in Hartford. He was the son of the (late) Anthony Nigro and Maria Archambambault-LaMay.

Tony took great pride in being a hard worker. He was a 27 year member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Union Local 1 CT and then Local 3 Massachusetts. He was an extremely talented Mason. He was also a tree expert, establishing Anthony’s Tree Removal.

Tony had a love for skiing, boating, camping, scuba diving, flying a plane, riding his Harley Davidson’s, traveling, history, knife forging, debating with anyone who would participate, a recently found passion for poetry, and a strong love for his family and friends. Tony was a fierce believer in aliens. He was a man you could not ignore and was extremely charismatic.

Tony is survived by his wife of 20 years, Diana Nigro of Voluntown, daughter  Natalie Nigro of Voluntown, mother, Maria Archambault-LaMay and husband John LaMay of Pawcatuck, brother, Shaun Nigro of Enfield, sister, Angela Nigro of Portland, Grandmother, Maria Figueroa of Voluntown, Mother-in-Law, Geraldine Carter of Jewett City, Father-in-Law and wife Richard Sevigney and Nancy Farnsworth of Norwich, Sister-in-Law Recina Robert and husband Joseph Robert of Occum, dearest aunt, Camelia Conner of Willimantic, closest nephew Baine Sevigney of Norwich, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as many extended family and friends.

Tony is predeceased by his father Anthony Nigro, step-father, Raymond (Archie) Archambault, uncle, Manuel Figueroa, Jr., and grandfather, Manuel Figueroa.
