Anthony Joseph “Skip” Krein, III, 65 years old, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Sandy Hook, MS on May 31, 2021.A former resident of Hudson, NY, Skip was the oldest of six children. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1973 until 1982, as a Chaplain’s Assistant. Skip was a decorated soldier and member of the New York American Legion, Post 252, for over 44 years. He played the trumpet, marched in parades and was the leader of the Philmont Phantoms Drum Corps. He worked with his father and brother at Krein Flooring, where he mastered his craft. He worked for the Philmont Rescue Squad as an EMT and provided assistance in New York City after the 911 terrorist attack. Skip was recognized by the fire department of NY for his dedicated service. He was a life member of the Philmont Volunteer Fire Department. Skip was known as Anton the Magician and Zingle the Clown, and was given an award for entertaining children at Shriner’s Hospitals. He traveled many places and saw many things, but his highest honor in life was in 2018 when he received his certificate of ministry through Calvary Christian Fellowship in Bogalusa, LA. Skip served by leading men’s ministry, preaching, singing and praying for others. Skip had a gift for saying the right things at the right time. He was loved by many, but his wife was his true love. Skip dreamed as a young man of one day, meeting his southern belle, and God joined he and Charla together in matrimony on June 24, 2006. They were inseparable and had a bond of love like no other. Skip was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved was preceded in death by his father, Anthony J. Krein, Jr.; his brother, Clyde Krein; his grandson, Jordan Krein; and his nephews, Clyde Krein and Christopher to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife, Charla Meitzler Krein; his mother, Rose Avery Krein; his children, Anthony “Skipper” J. Krein, IV, Kevin (Emily) Krein, Joshua Krein, Janet and Jamie, Clifton “Cliff” (Michelle) Gerald, and Jephrey (Consuella) Gerald; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Joseph (Darcy) Krein, Heaven (Eddie) Smith, William “Billy” (Teresa) Krein, and Harriett (Kelly) Krein-Hart; and his beloved Bassett Hound, “Mudbug”..
