Anthony Dean Burroughs AKA Big Time Tony was born in Atlanta, Georgia on April 2, 1947 and passed away at his home in Newnan, Georgia on August 9, 2014. He is survived by his best friend, Cecelia Burroughs, his children, Julie Burroughs, Laura Thomas, Lisa Moates, and Chuck Burroughs, grandchildren, Hailey Thomas, Brooke and Taylor Walker, Kristen Hector, Jessica and Sean Pounds, Shane and Chance Collins, eight great-grandchildren, his sister, Sandra Kimmons and brother- in- law Tommy Kimmons. He is predeceased by his father Marvin Burroughs, mother, Bettie Wright Burroughs and brother, Larry Burroughs. Tony served with distinction in the U.S. Army in Viet Nam, with the 173 Airborne Brigade Paratroopers, 1969-1970. Tony was a nature enthusiast, avid adventurer and dedicated volunteer with the Friends of Chattahoochee Bend, where he maintained trails and did river cleanup.
