Annie Elizabeth Manibusan, 71, went to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 28, 2022.
Annie was born in Guam on January 20, 1951, to Juan and Ana Manibusan. She was raised in a very loving and devout Catholic home. Her upbringing in the faith influenced the remainder of her life. Annie’s parents, with Annie and her younger sister, Maria, left Guan approximately 50 years ago and made their home in Roswell. Annie finished high school at Roswell High School and went on to Eastern New Mexico University to earn her bachelor’s degree and master’s in special education.
Annie lived a life of sacrifice, service and devotion. Annie fulfilled her lifelong dream when she entered the Carmelite Convent in California. However, when her father became ill, she left the convent and became the breadwinner for her family, teaching at elementary schools in Loving and Roswell, NM. When her mother died, Annie became a devoted caregiver for her sister who suffered with poor health for many years before her death. Annie also enjoyed her membership in Toastmasters, and for a period she served as the president of Noonday Toastmasters Club.
Annie was devoted to her Catholic faith and would share the truth and beauty of her faith with others. Annie’s faith and generous spirit has touched many people. She had a very strong prayer life and would spend hours of her day praying in the church; she cared deeply about the prayer requests and intentions of her friends, the church and the world. So many of her friends benefited from these loving and powerful prayers.
Annie was also very active in the Catholic parish life.
Annie will always be remembered as a faithful and devout person and friend. She will be remembered by all for her love of God, her constant prayer life and her kind and generous spirit.
At 2:00 PM on Friday, April 1, 2022, at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church located at 2808 N.
In her commitment to teaching, love of children, and sharing the beauty and truth of the Catholic faith, Annie’s last wishes are to support the scholarship fund at All Saints Catholic School in order to help provide any children the opportunity to benefit from a Catholic education.
