Arnold, Annie Myrle Godbey

Her family celebrates her life at her passing Nov. 5, 2010 at 92 years old. She was married to George Emmett Arnold for 66 years until his 2009 passing. They focused their lives on their family, children; George G. Arnold (Judy), Anne Arnold Davis (Mitch),Thomas E. Arnold; grandchildren: Rebecca Moul, Jacob Davis, Sarah Coxwell, George Thomas Arnold, Matthew Davis, Kristen Hales, Jessica Hamby, Andrew Davis, and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded by Eva Godbey, Charlene Collins, Edgar, Luther, John, James, and Paul Godbey. She taught elementary school, many Sunday schools, and actively contributed to many congregations. Mrs . Arnold provided love, nurturing, wisdom, support. She would take grandchildren on car trips to broaden heir experiences and have grandmother time.

A telling example of Mrs. Arnold’s love and support came during her last hours. She greeted a grandchild by name, and then told others to make him dinner. During her last hours, she was focused on taking care of family.

While we will miss her physical presence, a famous quote captures her impact “What we do for ourselves dies with us: What we do for others is immortal.” Her love, nurturing, support and wisdom is immortal.

Thanks to Character Builders Sunday School and LaChandra Mitchell. Memorial to Red Bird Mission, Beverly, KY.
