Mrs. Annice Hicks Allred, 86, a resident of 1317-A Camden Ave., died Friday, June 24, 2005 at High Point Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Allred was born September 10, 1918 in Guilford County, a daughter of Edward S. and Agnes Banks Hicks. A lifelong resident of Guilford County, she was a member of Foster Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emerson Allred, Jr., parents, four sisters, and four brothers.

Survivors include two sons, Mac Arthur Allred, Sr. (Daisy) of High Point, and James Allred (Johnsie) of Greensboro; four daughters, Bernice Briley (Ned H., Sr.), Ruth Pressley (Willie R.), all of High Point, Helen Pemberton (George) of Memphis, Tennessee, and Faye E Phillips (Alvin) of Houston, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; one brother, Arthur Hicks of Jamestown; one sister, Ida Richardson of High Point; 9 step-grandchildren; 29 step-great grandchildren; 35 step-great-great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
