Annette “Ann” M. (Walls) DeArmond, age 75, of Morocco, passed away at 1:10 P.M. on Monday, September 12, 2011. She was the daughter of Russell and Anna (Lear) Walls. Ann was born February 24, 1936, in Cleaton, Kentucky, a town which was named in honor of her Great-Grandmother, Hesky Cleaton Walls.
Ann lived in Porter County, Indiana, attending the Boone Grove Schools. On December 12, 1952, in Muhlenberg County, KY she married Shelby Austin DeArmond who survives.
Ann was a homemaker and had been a nurse’s aide for ten years. She had lived in Hammond, Rensselaer and Morocco, Indiana.
Surviving with her loving husband Shelby are five children, Nancy “Marie” Thomas, Brook; Russell “Russ” DeArmond, Remington; Lori DeArmond, Franklin, IN; Lisa Nagel, Kentland and Richard “Rick” (Niki) DeArmond, Lafayette; grandchildren, Josh Ellis, Phoenix, AZ, Schuyler DeArmond, Lafayette, Austin (Jessica) Williamson, Goodland, Kendra and Kaycee Nagel, Kentland, and Brittney DeArmond, Lafayette; three great-granddaughters, Maleah, Hayleigh and Jaevlye; brother, C.L. “Bud” (Diane) Walls, Valparaiso; sister, Fredia (Doug) Berg, LaPorte, IN. Other survivors include two special uncles, Billy and Vernon Walls, Crown Point, IN; special (former) son-in-law, Brad Thomas, Chandler, AZ; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela, parents, Russell and Anna, three sisters, Nancy Walls, Geneva Clark and Peggy Rippe, granddaughter, Bethany Ellis and great-grandson, Landon Lovely.
Ann battled many medical issues over the years following a liver transplant in 1994. She will be greatly missed.
