1919-2021Anne Theresa Verdecchio (nee Haggerty), 102 years of age died peacefully at the home of her son Robert (Margaret) on Sunday, April 18, 2021 in Lower Gwynedd, PA. Anne was born on April 22, 1919 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Although she lived most of her life in Philadelphia, Anne happily spent her final few decades living with her son Robert, his wife Margaret, and their family. Anne is survived by her children, Marianne (John) Fuccio; Theresa (Charles) DeStefano; Robert (Margaret) Verdecchio. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Anne was predeceased by her husband, Nunzio; eldest son, Joseph; grandson, Michael; and son-in-law, John. Anne was a truly happy person who delighted in spending time with her family. In Anne’s active years, she was an avid traveler both inside and outside the United States and visited her beloved Ireland twice. In addition to devoting much of her time and energy to her family, she was also a longtime worker for the Hoover calendar company and like other women of her time, helped build Corsair warplanes while her husband, Nunzio, was overseas helping to keep America safe during WWII.
