Anne May Bocci, age 73, passed away Saturday October 1, 2011. She was born on October 12, 1937 in Arney’s Mount, Pemberton, NJ. Anne was an engineer for Bell Telephone in Burlington for 35 years until her retirement in 1993 to help take care of her granddaughter. She was currently the vice president of the Senior Citizen’s Club of Burlington Twp.
She was a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers and for a few years was the choir director for St. Paul’s Church 9am Sunday Mass. Anne was full of life, in many ways living out the epitome of the ‘amazing race.’ She was diagnosed with familial polyposis, a rare intestinal cancer-causing disease at the age of 15. She never let that slow her down. She loved to celebrate all aspects of life – living out her wild dreams to have giant anniversary parties. She pulled us all into her dreams to help them become a reality. These occasions were extraordinary for all involved and brought so much of her family and friends together.
Anne and Ted celebrated their 55th anniversary with a High Mass renewal of their vows on August 6, 2011. Her creativity and talents were unmatched; there was nothing she put her mind to that she could not accomplish. She was a world traveler and was always willing to share her experiences. She always made family and friends look forward to her recounting the adventure and seeing the pictures. Always lucky, she loved to go to Atlantic City. Mom lived her life like the last person at a concert shouting out for “one more song.” She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Theodore J. Bocci, her beloved son Joseph A. Bocci, grandchildren Kelly Linn Bocci and Keith Nicolas Bocci. She is also survived by her siblings, Tomas Lucas, Kathy Rogers, Joseph Lucas, and Andy Lucas, her sister-in-law, Anne Pallante, brother-in-law Richard Bocci, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and good friends, including the Coward family in England.
