Annie Kathleen (“Kat”) Reece, 32, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 14th. Mrs. Reece was born on October 10, 1988 to Richard and Charlene Reece in St. Paul, MN. Mrs. Reece is survived by her parents, Richard and Chalene Reece; husband of 4 years, Andrew Loucks; son, Isaac Loucks; daughter, Gwyneth Jarrett; and brother, Evan Reece of St. Paul, MN. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, mother, and friend.
Kat graduated magna cum laude from St. Thomas University with a degree in History. She continued to NC State University and earned a Masters in Fine Arts in Creative Writing. Kat was an accomplished poet, winning scholarships and has been published in literary magazines.
In addition to her academic accomplishments, her passion was animals and was a loving pet caretaker. She enjoyed goofy sing-songs and was a karaoke maven, a minor celebrity at her favorite haunts. She was very devoted to her family and loving to her nieces and nephews.

on her way to the cave
where he was buried, she
tripped on a mud brick
in the middle of the path
but somehow managed to keep
her footing and go on,
how her mind kept drifting
back to the first day she
met him, how strange she’d felt,

when she saw his face,
she came so close to calling him
“Mother.” And then,
