Anne (Favinger) Gary of Woodbury, CT died peacefully at home on May 15, 2009 surrounded by her loving family. Recently of Bedford, MA, she was also a longtime resident of Lexington, MA and Whitefield, NH.

Mrs. Gary was born in Newton, MA on November 29, 1921, the daughter of Charles L. Favinger and Alice (Poore) Favinger. She grew up in Waban, MA and attended the Newton Public Schools and Walnut Hill School in Natick, MA. She graduated from Bradford Junior College, Class of 1942, and continued her education at Miss Pierce’s Secretarial School. From 1943-1945 she worked at Massachusetts General Hospital for Dr. Oliver Cope who initiated the Burn Clinic which treated victims from the Boston Coconut Grove fire.

Mrs. Gary served as President of the Lexington Field and Garden Club and during that time she initiated and chaired the annual Christmas Open House which took place in three historic taverns in town.
