Annadell Manchester, the daughter of Olive (Lamb) and Walter Gutscher, was born September 1, 1938 northeast of Burr Oak, Kansas on the farm in Jewell County. She departed this life on Monday, June 26, 2017 at the Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan, Kansas at the age of 78 years, 9 months and 25 days.

Ann grew up  and lived most of her life in Jewell county. One of ten children, she was the only sibling in her family to graduate from high school. For five years she owned and operated the Esbon Cafe.  Her personality was pervaded by a genuine warmth and concern for others and to that end she volunteered for years at the Mankato Senior Center, the Jewell County Hospital Longterm Care Unit and most recently at the Wamego Senior Center.

She was happiest working around her home, raising her family and being with family and friends. She made excellent homemade jellies, beef jerky, sausage and bread. Ann was an accomplished seamstress and sewed many of her kids clothes.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Clyde Manchester, on May 15, 1990; sisters, Pauline, Amy, Arilla, Clara, Beth; and brothers, Victor and Hale.

Surviving are her children, Betty Robidoux of Riverton, Wyoming; Mary Ann Reiter and husband Kenny of Mankato, Kansas; Shelia Maguin and husband Jim of Wamego, Kansas and Roxanna Teafatiller and husband TJ of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; 3 step-children, Sharon Lyons and husband Reeder of Dallas, Georgia; David Manchester and wife Sandy of Silver Lake, Kansas and Linda Higby and husband Tom of Los Banos, California; 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Luzella Williams of Beloit, Kansas and a brother, Leland Gutscher of Wichita, Kansas.
