Anna Mellissa Muntzert loving referred to as “Auntie” by her family and friends was born December 18, 1916 in Iola, Kansas to Charley H. and Mary Viola (Roush) Muntzert, and left this earth October 20, 2015 in Canon City, Colorado. Anna was the middle child of 5 as well as the only girl. She is preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, George Frederick, James Robert, Charles Edwards, and Roy Hubert (Hub). She is survived by three sisters-in-law, Ann Muntzert and Lou Ann Muntzert both of Texas, and Ina Mae Muntzert of South Dakota; 5 nieces, Mary Gladys (Hall) of Canon City, Anna Le (Tillman) of Anchorage, Echo Ione (Zickwick) of South Dakota, Charlotte Iva (Bumgarner) of Guffey, and Coletta Tipps of Texas; and 1 nephew, James K. Muntzert of Victor. She had 15 great nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephew. She never forgot a birthday and made sure each of the kids got a card for their special day. Since moving with her family to Canon City in 1937, she was an active member of many organizations including the Eagles and Rebekah’s.
