Anna May Dorothy, the daughter of Oren and Sophia (Durham) McIntire, was born August 29, 1912 in Canton, Illinois. She was a graduate of Canton High School in 1930.
On September 3, 1939, Anna May was united in marriage to Virgil L. Dorothy in St. Louis, Missouri. They moved to Newton, Iowa in 1957. Anna May worked for Spurgeons as a sales clerk.
Anna May was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Virgil in 1992; her three brothers, Clifton and Robert McIntire and one in infancy; and her sister, Leah Eakle. Those left to honor her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Robert and Janet Dorothy of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania; her daughter and son-in-law, JoAnna and Jim Agnew of Lafayette, Colorado; Jon Agnew of Fort Madiosn, Iowa; Dr. Chris Dorothy of Stratford, New Jersey; and Krsten M. Bedsole of Landenburg, Pennsylvania; her great-grandson, Tommy Bedsole of Landenburg, Pennsylvania; and her brother, Raymond McIntire of St. Louis, Missouri.
