Anna Marie Frances (Wurster) Moeller, 88, of Indianapolis, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021.  She was born in Indianapolis on December 30, 1932 to the late Clarence C. and Marguerite (Barry) Wurster.

Annie was known for many things in life, but most notably as a loving wife,  dedicated mother and grandmother.  She was patient, easy going, and never had a bad thing to say about anyone.  Annie was a Christian, a gifted athlete, and a skillful business woman.

Annie came out of the gate quickly, graduating from Arsenal Technical high school in only three years (class of 1949), proceeding through college courses, and on to prestigious positions that found her in stenography and assisting company presidents.  Annie was in perpetual motion throughout her entire life.

Along the way though she found time to faithfully write letters to a soldier fighting in the Korean war, Dick Moeller who would soon become the love of her life.

Upon Dick’s return from the war they became inseparable.  Dick and Annie would go on to raise a beautiful family of three,  while owning and operating a small family printing business.  Annie would also lead their way in acquiring over five private rental properties, many of which are still active today.

Upon retirement Dick and Annie would often travel the country in their camper and additionally around the world, while a camper ride to Disney with two grandsons in tow would lovingly prove to be their greatest test of travel.

They were also athletes.  They passionately rode their high performance bicycles on a regular basis. For many years they would participate in an annual bicycling trip, traveling 100 miles in a single day, a tradition they carried into their 60’s.

In addition to cycling, Annie was also a gifted swimmer.  She could often be found swimming early morning laps at her local YMCA.  Annie became a highly decorated Senior Olympian, gaining countless gold medals in cycling, swimming and triathalons, making her perfect bowling score of 300 in her earlier years seem almost pedestrian.

Annie enjoyed playing board games with her family like backgammon and dominoes.  She had a cute laugh and Granny Annie loved a big hug from her grandkids.

The family owned four horses throughout Annie’s lifetime, all of which she tended to with great affection.  Nearing the end, and in her most vulnerable state Annie could sometimes be seen standing just outside the pasture fence where Tarzan, the family horse would gently hang his head allowing Annie to kiss his face.

Survivors include her loving husband of 66 years, Harold “Dick” Moeller; children, Harold Daniel Moeller, Julia Ann Moeller DeLay (husband, Daniel C.), and Susan Marie Moeller Smith; brothers, Robert Wurster (Beverly) and James Wurster (Margaret); and grandchildren, Craig DeLay (Brenda), Nate DeLay, Jason DeLay, Nick Moeller, Shawn Smith and Clarissa Moeller.
