After a protracted battle with cancer, Anna Lopez, age 57, died on November 9, 2016 in Grand Junction, CO at the age of 57.

Anna was born on September 11, 1959 in Grand Junction, Colorado to Sonny and Earleen Marshall.  Anna grew up in Grand Junction and attended Grand Junction High School.  She married John Lopez in April of 1979, moving to the small mountain community of Collbran, Colorado soon after.  Anna was an active and dedicated member of the local community.  She owned several small businesses, volunteered regularly, and served as a volunteer Firefighter and First Responder for more than 10 years.  Anna’s drive for life, mental and emotional strength, and dedication to family will live on through her four children, three grandchildren, and all of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Anna enjoyed photography, bowling, camping, reading, and traveling.  She expressed her creative side through less traditional artistic avenues.  She was an adventurous cook, always experimenting with new foods and recipes; she had her own unique style of dress that was unmistakably her own; and she enjoyed several creative outlets that range from cake decorating to Pysanka, a traditional Ukrainian craft.

Anna is survived by her parents, Sonny and Earleen Marshall; husband, John Lopez; children, Nick Lopez, Danielle (Baltazar) Lopez-Castaneda, Luke Lopez, and Steven (Melissa) Lopez; grandchildren Hailey, Ayva, and Henry; siblings, Deniese (Brian) Kohles, William (Brenda) Marshall, Dennis Marshall, and Carrie Roinestad as well as extended family.

The family would like to thank Grand Valley Oncology, Hope West, and Community Hospital for their outstanding care and support.
