HIGGINS, Anna Mae, Of Kalamazoo. Passed away Saturday, January 14, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born April 9, 1937 in Starkville, MS, the daughter of Johnnie and Julia Doss.
Anna leaves to cherish her memory, Herbert Sharon Higgins, Jr., Betty Higgins, Felicia Gino Burnette, all of Kalamazoo, Sherrie Chatmon of Schaumburg, IL; her sisters, Louise Eddie Springfield, Ruby Jessie Mitchell; brother Nelson Dorothy Doss all of Memphis, TN; and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; the love of her life, husband, Herbert Higgins, Sr.; her sons, James Higgins, Kelvin Higgins; sister, Hattie Hamilton; and brother, Eckford Doss.
Anna enjoyed caring for her family and friends. She was a generous, kind-hearted person who put the needs of others ahead of her own. Her generosity and love was well known; and she especially enjoyed taking care of her loving husband.
