SANTEE, Anna M. Kalamazoo, MI Anna Mae Santee Kuiper, Griffioen crossed over into God’s hands on November 16, 2013 at the Life Care Center of Plainwell. Ann was born on February 25, 1930 to Henry and Christina Kuiper and was a lifelong resident of this area. She was married to John Griffioen on June 10, 1949.
Church and music were a large part of her life. She was the organist for Faith Reformed Church for many years and at Tri-Lakes Campground. After her children were grown, she worked for the Kalamazoo Public School system for a number of years. After John’s passing, she was blessed to find another love, Howard Santee, and they were married on September 12, 1992. They later moved to Golf Lake Estates in Bradenton, FL and enjoyed the sunny skies, new friends and faith. They returned to Portage in 2007 residing at Crossroads Village for many years.
Ann was known for playing the piano, leading lunch time sing-a-longs, beating you at cards or marbles your choice, and knitting beautiful outfits for newborns. Ann was well loved and cared for. She will be missed by her family and friends. Ann is survived by brothers Robert Betty Kuiper and Neil Wilma Kuiper; and children Sandy Mike Skartsiaris; Ron Margie Griffioen; Steve Joanne Griffioen; Ken Sue Griffioen; Doug Angie Santee; Diana Robert Allen; SueAnn Niemeth; along with many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
