Anna M. Laramie, age 80 of Sanford, died Sunday July 7, 2013 at her residence. The daughter of the late Robert and Marie (Savunen) Kangas was born in Rudyard, Michigan on April 25, 1933.
Ann had worked for many years with State Wide Realtors in Sanford. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace (St. Agnes Catholic Church) Sanford where she was an usher and catechist. Ann was a member of the Sanford American Legion Auxiliary for over 33 years where she was a past President and Treasurer, a Blue Star Mother for over 20 years, and very active with Disabled American Veterans. She enjoyed doing seamstress work, baking, reading, feeding the birds, and was involved with the Cub Scouts and Girls Scouts. On May 30, 1952 in Sault Ste. Marie Anna married Glenn E. Laramie and after 46 years of marriage he died on April 15, 1998.
Surviving are her children, David Laramie of Felch, Michigan, Vicky Ramirez of Grant, Michigan, Renee (Scott) Forsyth of Rapid River, Michigan, Denis (Shelley) Laramie of Sanford, Dan (Tina) Laramie of Manistique, Michigan, Kristin (Glenn) Zubler of Katy, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and 2 on the way; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband Ann was preceded in death by 13 brothers and 2 sisters.
