Mrs. Allen, who reached 97 years of age, peacefully passed away at her residence after a long illness. She is the widow of the late George C. Allen and a member of Mt.

Viewing is Thursday, November 21st from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mortuary.

Anna Lou Morrow, affectionately called “Baby Lou”, was born on April 27, 1916 in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She was the fifth of eight children born to Ella and Louis Morrow. Her parents and all of her siblings preceded her in death. Anna Lou accepted Christ at the age of nine and was baptized by Reverend Ben Howard of Louisiana.

In 1945, Anna Lou met and married the love of her life, George Curtis Allen. After fifty-six years of marriage, George was called home to glory. Her beloved adopted son, Gerald Pinkney also preceded her in death.

She served on Usher Board #2, the Senior Mission, sang in the Relief Chorus, attended Sunday School Class #4 and served in the Nurses Unit for many years. She also served in the Progressive District, California Missionary State Convention and attended the Baptist Training Union. Scripture and prayer was a part of her daily routine. She expressed her gratitude to God for her health and strength.

Anna Lou loved to dress and look good. She felt a lady was not dressed up until she had a hat on.

She loved to tell stories from her past. She shared her wisdom and wealth of life experiences whenever an opportunity presented itself. She was very proud of her age and didn’t hesitate to tell everyone how old she was.

Anna Lou enjoyed expressing her opinion and giving advice about any and everything, from the goodness of God to marriage and sex.

On Saturday, November 16, 2013, Anna Lou Allen was called from earthly labor to eternal rest. She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory her niece and adopted daughter, Mamie Morrow of Natchitoches, LA; nieces, Iona Pinkney of Los Angeles, CA, Hattie Louise Jones (Tracy) of Louisiana and Helene Harris of Los Angeles, CA; grandsons, Jamall Pinkney and Gerald Bowers both of Los Angeles, CA; great nieces, Ella Morrow of Natchitoches, LA and Martha Fletcher of Houston, TX; adopted brother, Lawrence C. Hearn, Sr. of San Diego, CA; adopted sister, Ocella Roberts of San Diego, CA; godchildren, Tiffany V. Holt (Elwood Leo) of Arizona and Elezo Cooper, Jr. and Terri Wright both of San Diego, CA; cousins, Sheila Cooper and Ora Lee Love both of San of Diego, CA; adopted daughters, Carolyn McFarland, Gladys Wright (Laron), Roslyn Nealy (Cedric), Nancy Cooper (Elezo Sr.
