Anna Kathren (Steffensen) Reeves, 94, passed peacefully on Sunday, May 16, 2021. She is survived by her son Sigurd Reeves, daughter-in-law Lisa-Marie Sanders, grandson Chad Reeves, Cocoa Beach, FL her Daughter Christine Boyette, and grandson Shea Patrick, Cleveland, TN. Anna was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Reeves and her brother Svafar Steffensen. Anna was born April 26, 1927 on a ship in the harbor of New York City as her parents emigrated from Iceland. She loved all things Icelandic and was proud of her heritage.
Anna had a variety of businesses including a travel agency, a boutique and dog breeding. She had diverse interests, a quick wit and indomitable spirit. Anna traveled extensively, drawn to the various cultures and cuisines she encountered. She loved the beach and boating and was an avid reader. Anna loved Florida, especially Miami and Cocoa Beach where she was active in the garden club, women’s club, various quilting clubs and animal charities. She was an award winning quilter who generously shared her experience, teaching others and inspiring them to pursue quilting as an art form.
