Anna E. Muntman, 93, of Meredosia, died Saturday, April 5, 2008, at Barton Stone Home in Jacksonville.

She was born Dec. 26, 1914, near Murrayville, the daughter of John A. Lonnie and Bessie Mae Mapes Bacon. She married Kermit A. Muntman on Oct. 14, 1935, in Jacksonville, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 2002.

She is survived by one daughter, Phyllis (husband, Clinton) Dobbins of rural Meredosia; six grandchildren, Diana (husband, Richard) Rees of Franklin, Sherry McAllister of St. Charles, MO, Shawn (wife, Rebecca) Dobbins of Arlington, TX, Ronda Friedel of Jacksonville, Kevin Muntman of Brussels, and Tiffany (husband, Kendall) Shaw of Rock Falls; twelve great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Curtis L. Muntman; one grandson, Michael Dobbins; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Thelma L. Pinson and Mildred Irene Brian.Mrs. Muntman graduated from Waverly High School in 1932 and Brownâ??s Business College in 1933. She worked in the Jacksonville Bus Line Office in 1934-35. From 1954-1960 she was an alteration seamstress for Haigh Dress Shop in the Dunlap Hotel in Jacksonville. She then worked at Passavant Area Hospital in Medical Records, enrolled in a correspondence course in 1963, and received her certificate and passed the exam with the American Medical Record Association, becoming an Accredited Medical Technician in 1964. She retired from Passavant in 1977. Following retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling, and they wintered in lower Texas for twenty-three years. They also established the trust for Hodge Cemetery at Chapin State Bank. She was a long-time member of the Meredosia United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery and quilting. She especially enjoyed being with her family.
