Anna E. Fowler

Anna was born on March 30, 1913 in South Bend, IN to August and Irma (Coddens) Taelman. She married G. Edward Fowler of Lydick, IN on August 27, 1931. Preceeding her in death are her parents, her husband, a baby daughter Sue Ann, a daughter-in-law Jo Ann Fowler of Holland, MI, and two brothers – Rene Taelman of South Bend and Julius Taelman of Phoenix, AZ.

Anna is survived by her son, George J. Fowler of Holland, MI and by four grandchildren  Tim (Susan) Fowler of Alpharetta, Ga, Beth Ricksgers of Granger, IN, Dr Tom (LuAnn) Fowler of Byron Center, MI and by Steve (Cheryl) Worthington of Leander, TX. She is also survived by a sister, Elsie M. Mitchell of South Bend and a sister-in-law Donna Taelman of Cave Creek, AZ.

She was a loving great-grandmother to Kathryn Fowler of Alpharetta, GA; Jennifer (Chane) Binder of Yuma, AZ; Kevin Ricksgers of Granger, IN; Kailey, Meghan, Jacob, Samuel, Anna, Emma Fowler of Byron Center, MI; Ryne Worthington, Holly, April Radosta of Leander, TX. She has left behind many dear nieces and nephews.

As a child, Anna attended schools in Crumstown and Lydick, IN. After her school years she managed her parents grocery store in Crumstown, IN and after her marriage she worked in Whitesels Grocery Store in Lydick, IN. She and her husband moved to Mill Creek, IN where she worked in Smiths Grocery store and also drove a school bus for the LaPorte County schools. Anna and Ed also were foster parents to many children through the welfare foster parent program.

In retirement, she and her husband traveled and spent winters in Florida and Arizona. She loved and enjoyed her family.

After her husbands death, Anna lived in Chicago Trail Village in New Carlisle, IN and later moved to Heartland of Holland Care Center in Holland, MI to be near her son.
