Anna “Boots” Bookout Bonifay passed from this world on Monday, December 9, 2019. She has recently been a resident of Sandy Ridge Nursing Home in Milton, FL. Boots and her husband Edward were residents of Gulf Breeze, Florida for more than 60 years.
“Boots” retired from Santa Rosa County after many years in the tag office. She began with the county selling licenses and tags out of the back of the Bonifay Hardware Store in the early 1950’s.
Mrs. Bonifay is survived by her son, Edward “Larry” III (nee:Terri), her daughter, Lois Ann Gavin (nee: Steve), 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Edward Bonifay Jr., both of her parents and both of her brothers, Paul and Milton Bookout. She loved her family very much, both close and distant.
