Ann Pavur, 83, of Three Oaks, Michigan, died Saturday, March 17, 2007 in her home.Ann Veronica Pavur was born on June 6, 1923 to Stefan and Mary (Sudigalova) Matus in Czechoslovakia. She married Louis Pavur in Chicago on October 20, 1945. Ann and Louis owned and operated many grocery stores in the Chicago area, Michigan City and New Buffalo, including Lou and Ann’s Beer & Wine Carry-Out. Ann was a country girl at heart and loved raising farm animals, gardening, fishing, and being with her family.

Ann is survived by her daughters Nancy Carlson and Marilyn (John) Ponegalek of Three Oaks; grandchildren, Scott (Tina) Zygmuntowski, Valerie (Danyel) Wood, Matthew (Carmen) Carlson, Chris (Al) Gnodtke, Carry (Dave) Lohraff, Candy (Jay) Czuk, Melanie (Ryan) Kolberg, and Amy Pavur; great grandchildren Colin Zygmuntowski, Zachary Wood, Kaylee Carlson, Tyler, Kyle, and Kelsey Gnodtke, Julia and Jacob Lohraff, and Brandon Czuk; and her brother Rudy Matus of Lisle, Illinois. Ann was preceeded in death by her parents, husband Louis, son Michael and sister Stephanie Matus.Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Three Oaks with Reverend Father Don Suberlak, C.R. as celebrant. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, New Buffalo, Michigan.
