Ann Marie Addison was an incredible woman with the biggest heart. She cared deeply for those in her life and was a football fanatic. One of her favorite times of year was “football season.” She loved cranking up country music and dancing in the kitchen, and she had the best cookie recipes. Everywhere she went she brought light and vibrance. She was born on October 2, 1956 to parents Florence Gajda Zarek and Stanley Zarek. She grew up in Cheshire, MA, and attended nursing school at UMass. Nursing was a natural fit for her caring and compassionate personality, and even though she was little in stature, she was such a tough lady. While still living in Massachusetts, she met her future husband Jeffrey Addison and joked that she didn’t like him at first, then before she knew it he was moving in! They had dates along the beach and always had a fun time wherever they went together. She married Jeffrey Addison on April 30, 1983, and always talked about that day of their wedding and how much of a fun party their reception was too. Soon after being married, Ann and Jeff moved to Huntsville, AL. She had two daughters, Sarah and Elizabeth, and became a stepmother to David and Jennifer. She took great joy in motherhood and raised her daughters to share her quirks and compassion for people. Motherhood was something she excelled at, and she poured her heart and soul into her kids. She also took great pride in helping to raise her granddaughter Claudia and imparting her wisdom and wit on her. Whether shouting about a football game, delighting in a funny cat picture, or just injecting a little bit of sunshine into each day, she was such an energetic personality to be around. If you met her, she was unforgettable and probably made you laugh. She is survived by her husband of 39 years Jeffrey Addison, her eldest daughter Sarah and her husband Damien Field, her youngest daughter Elizabeth and her husband Ellis Brittain, a granddaughter Claudia, her brother Tom Zarek and his long time partner Grace, a brother Jerry Zarek, and many other cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
