South Bend – Ann E. Locsmondy, 96, of South Bend, passed away on Monday August 18, 2014, in Morningside Nursing and Memory Care, South Bend. She was born on October 3, 1917, in South Bend, to the late Alex and Mary (Goverinski) Zelasko. On May 18, 1938, she married Henry “Chet” Locsmondy, who preceded her in death on October 11, 2004. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Rose Laskowski, Agnes Niedbalski and Alice Kowalski; and by three brothers, Frank, Richard and Joe “Bud” Zelasko. Ann is survived by her daughter, Kathy (John) Scott of South Bend; her sons, Henry (Veronica) Locsmondy, Jr. of South Bend and Richard (Mary Ann) Locsmondy of Rockford, IL; seven grandchildren, Hank (Merena) Locsmondy, Rich (Lindy) Locsmondy, Debbie (Eric) Bang, Lauria (Tim Heise) Locsmondy, Amy (Rob) Briney, Blair (Lori) Scott and Derek Scott; and by nine great-grandchildren, Cody and Cassie Bang and Chris (Ashley) and Justin Ruehman, Tripp and Luke Locsmondy, Henry Locsmondy Heise, Sydney and Owen Scott; and by one great-great granddaughter, Alexis Ruehman. Ann worked as a Police Patrol Guard for the South Bend Police Department until retiring in 1979. She was a Parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. 3545 N. 3545 N.
