Ann Bridgman-Pitman Ann Bridgman-Pitman, 84, of Ridgefield, died peacefully on October 29, 2012 at Filosa for Nursing and Rehabilitation, Danbury. Ann was born in Englewood, NJ, August 7, 1928, a daughter of the late Hugh and Janet (Benner) Bridgman. She attended New Jersey schools and Moore College of Art and Design, Philadelphia, PA. A long-time resident of Ridgefield, CT and a founding member of Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue (ROAR). Marcia Libby, Founder of ROAR, stated the Ann was the first person she met from the general public who showed up to a meeting to support ROAR during its very early years; in fact, she was the ONLY person who came to that particular meeting. From that day forward, Ann was one of ROAR’s most dedicated supporters. When the ROAR/Donofrio Family opened to the public, Ann volunteered tirelessly to make sure the cats and dogs were loved and well cared for. Besides her passion for the welfare of homeless cats and dogs, Ann was an accomplished artist (her favorite medium was water color) and attended Moore College of Art & Design in Philadelphia. She was a founding member of the Ridgefield Guild of Artists, and at one time, was responsible for public relations for the Silvermine Artist Guild. As Ann’s friends would confirm, she never hesitated to speak her mind. Her honesty, spunk, and dedication to her causes were admired and will be missed. She is survived by a sister, Page Kidder of Yarmouth Port, MA.
