Anita Mae Ekeland, 84, of Parker, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2010. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was born on August 30, 1925 in Eau Claire, WI, the daughter of Hubert and Frances (Hall) Haskins.
On October 30, 1944 she married 2nd LT Erwin J. Ekeland in Liberal, KS, they were married for 66 years. Anita was a housewife and stayed home to raise their three children, Joel, Trimby and Pamela.
Anita was a member of the PEO for 23 years. She was the wedding coordinator for Hilltop UCC for 10 years, and a member of the Great Book Club. Anita was a volunteer at St. Joseph’s Hospital for 27 years and a member of the Classic Convertible Club. She enjoyed sewing and tailoring.
