Anita Yvonne Cooper passed away on December 5, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 15, 1937, to Clyde and Marian Cofer in
Baltimore, Md. Yvonne grew up in the Washington D.C. area and graduated from American University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. While volunteering at the local USO, Yvonne met the love of her life, Robert E. Cooper. They were married in April 1958 in Atlanta, Ga. Their union not only survived but flourished for 41 years until Bob’s death in 1999. Yvonne traveled extensively with her husband as he served in the US Navy and they eventually settled in Camarillo. Yvonne
worked in several fields, including journalism and marketing, before retiring as a paralegal at a local law firm.

Yvonne truly loved California, and came to call it home for many reasons, but especially because it afforded her the opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of
outdoor activities year round. She loved hiking, biking, water skiing, kayaking, camping, street fairs and cultural festivals.

Yvonne was an avid and expert snow skier, which led her to ski resorts around the US, Canada and Europe, looking for the perfect powder. She was a long time
member of the Downhill Rumblers Ski Club where she made many life-long friendships. Additionally, she participated in small community theater pro-
ductions, and enjoyed reading, shopping and attending concerts and plays with family and friends.

Yvonne found many ways to support her community including volunteering with Food
Share, the Canine Adoption and Rescue League and The Salvation Army.

Yvonne is survived by her brother John Cofer (Pat) of Salt Lake City, Utah; sisters Corinne Kaiser (Bob) of Woodbridge, Va., and Judy Cofer of Camarillo; many nieces and nephews and her beloved and constant companions Ranger and Harley.
