Born on the island of Chios, Greece, “Kiki” came to the U.S. at age 13 and married the love of her life, Anthony C. Vournazos (1930-1983) five years later.
Well respected for her strong convictions and feisty to the end, her most treasured job was being “Yiayia” to her 6 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Angie’s family was her greatest joy.
She is survived by her four children Marina A. Shagoury (and husband Simon) of Cheshire, CT, Constantine A. Vournazos (and wife Sophia) of Newtown, CT, Alexis M. Vournazos of Danbury, CT and Anthony J. Vournazos (and wife Sarah) of Shelton, CT, six grandchildren Katharine (Shagoury) Hopkins (and husband Brian), Nicole A. Vournazos, Alexandra Angelique Shagoury, Anthony C. Vournazos, Steven G. Vournazos, and Anthony P. Vournazos, one great-granddaughter Helena L. Hopkins, two siblings Betsy Christinakis of West Newbury, MA and Nick Konstandakis of Lincoln, MA, and three nieces and nephews Melina (Christinakis) Gikas and George Christinakis of West Newbury, MA and Melanie Konstandakis of Woburn, MA.
