Angelo D. Carrieri, age 77, of Rome, passed away peacefully, January 30, 2013, with his loving family at his side.
He was born September 10, 1935, in Rome; a son of Anthony and Concepta Bartolotti Carrieri, and graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1954. He entered into an aerial photography program with the United States Air Force and served from 1954-1958. He later studied portrait photography at the Winona School of Photography in Winona, IN. Angelo was united in marriage to the former Nancy Kraeger on August 11, 1962, in St. Paul’s Church in Whitesboro. He was a photograher at Tolyn Studio for many years and operated Tony’s Shoe Repair for over 25 years. He was a member of St. Paul’s Church in Rome.
Angelo was an active, life member of the Rome Elks and served as Exalted Ruler three times. He also served on various house committes and served as a Ritual Judge for the New York State Elks. He was a former member of Crestwood Golf Club and an avid bowler and skier.
Angelo is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; two sisters and a brother in law, Carmella Conti of CA, and Josephine and Robert Polce of Rome; two brothers and a sister in law, Ronald and Vicki Carrieri of SC, and Michael Carrieri of HI; numerous nieces and nephews; sisters in law and brothers in law, David and Eileen Kraeger, Gary and Kay Kraeger, Robert and Kathy Kraeger, and Barbara and Bob Burnap. He was predeceased by brothers in law, John and William Kraeger and Anthony Conti.
